The Zambian Police public relations office has issued a statement following the absence of the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Remmy Kajoba .
It reads, The Inspector General of Police , Mr Remmy Kajoba is just recovering from Malaria, it therefore follows that at the time of his swearing in, he was unwell.
This is the reason why authorities at State House allowed him to take a rest in the lounge after his swearing in and only joined in during the photo session.
Many Zambians have shown satisfaction with current appointments.
Laura Miti wrote, “Happy with the choice of Anthony Bwalya, as special Assistant to the President. He is informed, articulate and measured. Let’s just hope that he does not find the poisoned chalice hidden in State house from which his last 3 predecessors (with the exception of Isaac Chipampe) drunk very deeply. The contents have the effect of inflating the ego and annoyance capabilities of the drinker big time.”
“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Anthony Bwalya as Special Assistant for Press and Public relations.
Mr Bwalya comes with immense experience for this job. We are confident that he will deliver in this role. We urge the public to support Mr. Bwalya as he executes his duties.” President Hakainde Hichilema
