The Horizon Group of Schools based in Cold Comfort Harare has pioneered a learning project aimed at strengthening pupils’ mentorship anchoring on team building concept.
Recently, the elite school embarked on an educational tour at a local holiday resort in Marondera. This was aimed at nurturing learners’ capabilities into high sounding visionary leaders both at school and going into the future.
The academic institution hired the services of a renowned consultant company for the two day educational training.
Speaking to Spotlight Online News Africa, The Horizon Group of Schools Director Ms Melody Nyadzayo said at least 30 pupils comprising juniors and Seniors attended the training Programme the was held for two days.
“As the globe is shifting towards sustainable development as a school we decided to come up with a Programme aimed at instilling leadership mentorship skills to our leaners. This is so important to enable them to relate to various aspects ranging from personal enrichment, education and future carriers,” reiterated Ms Nyadzayo.
Learners were taken through leadership skills, mentorship, team building among other various issues. The tour also proved to be a milestone development for the Horizon Group of Schools. The process was also to spearhead a fine tuned selection of prefects for the school.
Ms Nyadzayo also reiterated that the school will continue to introduce more training programs for its learners in order to enhance their learning capabilities through exposure and team building.
“The school is geared to introduced more Programmes that benefit our students on a wider perspective. Educational tours provides a unique platform for learners to explore more outside the setup of the their own learning premises. The tour in Marondera was a game changer in providing mentorship for our learners. This also assisted in the selection of our school perfects. “
