Paris is hosting the 2021 Serve The City International Forum, where STC volunteers come from all over the world to join in workshops, volunteer activities, and evening events, all designed to build the international community and to help STC become stronger, better volunteers worldwide.
WHEN: Thursday evening, October 21, starting at 18H, through Saturday, October 23, at 18H.
WHERE: Thursday night, Friday, and Saturday: The American Church in Paris (ACP): 65 Quai d’Orsay, Paris 75007 (Metro Invalides…line 8, 13 and the RER C).
Friday night event: scheduled at the Generator Hotel Roof-Top Bar. Located at 9-11 Place du Colonel Fabien, 75010 Paris …Metro Louis Blanc, Line 7 or Metro Colonel Fabien, line 2).
Saturday Morning Volunteer Activity: Albert Schweitzer Parc, 10 Rue de l’Hôtel de Ville, 75004, Paris. Just in front of the Metro 7, Pont Marie stop, or 2 minutes walk from Metro 1, St. Paul Stop
DONATION: There is a €50 donation to participate (€25 donation for students). The donation is tax-deductible and it will go towards the admin and operating costs of running the forum and helping support the STCP volunteer programs for the marginalized. Serve the City Paris is part of a global movement of English-speaking volunteers that show kindness and generosity in practical ways to help the people in cities, who are in need. Our Association is a legal NGO in Paris, focused on helping asylum seekers, refugees, the homeless, and underprivileged foreigners in Paris. The majority of its volunteers range in age, from students visiting Paris to retired expats who live in Paris. Its funding is 100% based on donations from individuals, and corporations who donate by participating in its social impact workshops.
Its aim is to provide opportunities, activities, and programs that mobilize volunteers in our city by leveraging the talents and skills of the volunteers. A core team of volunteers all take a lead in the programs we offer and Serve the City Paris supports these programs and the ‘social entrepreneurs by providing resources, office space, financing, the network, and best practices on how to run a stable program dedicated to supporting those in need. It is the connection between the humanitarian needs of the city, and the generosity and talents of people who make volunteering a part of their daily life.
This activity is called ‘crossing the line’. With over 3,000 members signed up as volunteers in Paris alone.
Serve the City Paris has been in existence in Paris for almost a decade. It started as a small group of members of the American Church in Paris and individuals who adopted the STC international ethos (over 15 years in existence and in over 100 cities around the world). STCP became an official NGO non-profit registered under the French government in 2015. Serve the City Paris has now grown into a group of over 3,000 members signed up as volunteers who participate in volunteer activities 5 days a week and events on a monthly basis.
It strongly believes in serving people regardless of their backgrounds, origins, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs. It’s a simple act of dignifying the less fortunate and humanizing fellow men, women, and families.
