A 24-year-old security guard died after sustaining injuries following an attack by a suspected robbery gang at a local Harare hotel.
The attack left nine of the now deceased Liberty Chinembiri’s workmates nursing various degrees of injuries.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) national spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.
“Police in Harare are investigating a case of murder which occurred at a hotel along Iford Road, Ardbennie, Waterfalls on August 27, 2024.
“A security guard, Liberty Chinembiri (24) was attacked by unknown suspects while on duty with other nine security guards and was found with multiple injuries behind the hotel.
“He was taken to Sally Mugabe Hospital where he died upon admission,” said Nyathi.
ZRP is appealing to anyone with information pertaining to the incident to report at any nearest police station.
