Heads from 13 West African nations have begun showing up in Ghana prior to an Extraordinary ECOWAS meeting planned to happen on Today, September 16, 2021.
The gathering is to examine the tactical takeover in Guinea headed by Lt. Col. Mamadou Dambouya.
ECOWAS in a previous gathering has suspended Guinea from the community upon military junta.
The impending gathering is to permit the Authority of Heads of States and Government under the Chairmanship of President Akufo-Addo of Ghana to investigate methods of de-heightening the developing pressure within the sub-region.
Currently an exceptional ECOWAS fact-finding mission led by Ghana’s Foreign and Regional Integration Minister Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey has gotten back from Guinea with a report which will be laid for deliberation at Today’s summit.
Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Ms Shirley Ayorkor Botchway addressing the press on yesterday, Wednesday, 15 September 2021 said Guinea and Mali would not be part of the Summit because the political instability in the 2 ECOWAS member states are the topic for the meeting.
In the mean time, the Police has declared that areas of the Liberation and Independence streets in Accra will encounter an impermanent traffic halts on Today because of the ECOWAS crunch meeting.
The barrier is to work with the transportation of Heads of States and Governments who will take part in the exceptional meeting.
Regions to be influenced incorporate; the Kotoka International Airport, Opebia, Akuafo Roundabout, Afrikiko, Ako-Adjei exchange, National Theater, Ridge Roundabout, lastly Kempinski Hotel.
