A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to raise £12,000 for the repatriation of Zanele Sibanda, a 28-year-old woman tragically killed in a stabbing incident last Tuesday.
A suspect Tanaka Zivanai (32) based in Gloucester, United Kingdom, was nabbed and charged with murder. He was arrested at the scene and is currently in police custody, awaiting a court appearance at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court Thursday.
As her family and friends come to terms with this devastating loss, they are reaching out to the community for support to provide Zanele with a dignified farewell in her home country of South Africa.
“As we grieve this unimaginable loss, we are faced with the heart-wrenching task of repatriating Zanele’s body to South Africa, where her family and loved ones are awaiting her return.
“The cost of repatriation and funeral arrangements is significant, and we are reaching out to our community for support.
“We have set up this GoFundMe campaign to help raise the £12,000 needed to bring Zanele back to South Africa and give her the dignified farewell she deserves.
“We kindly ask for any contributions you can make, no matter how small, to help us in this difficult time.
“Your generosity will not only help us cover the costs but will also offer a semblance of comfort to her grieving family”, said Difa Dube the GoFundMe organiser.
