Abel Mavura is a humanitarian worker and writer, whose record is absolutely mouthwatering. He has been involved in various philanthropic works. Over the years he has built a strong network which has benefited a lot of disadvantaged and vulnerable groups in society.
As a part of his service to the community, he is currently building a youth hub. The hub is nearing completion, and Mavura says it will serve as a Youth Information Centre. He assures that Innovation and Research are the core pillars of its existence.
The hub is situated in Mutoko, a rural area in Zimbabwe. The institution is envisioned to serve youths from Mutoko and probably spill into neighbouring societies.
Mavura also hails from Mutoko, where he grew up and found his passion to serve. His life experiences inspired him to not want to see many youths stuck in abject poverty. Thus, these efforts to uplift his hometown.
In addition, Abel Mavura is also the Founder and Director of another successful Youth and Women-Focused organisation. In 2003 Mavura established Marvel Act Youth Organisation (MAYO) Trust. MAYO has been a stepping stone to a lot of youths in Zimbabwe that set them in motion towards their brighter days. Together with his team, they have mobilized innumerable resources for vulnerable communities and individuals.
Professionally, Abel Mavura is a Social Justice Advocate Development Practitioner, Journalist and published author. He is endowed with a Bachelor of Social Sciences Degree, a Diploma in Journalism and Communication, Diploma in English, a Master in International Affairs, Advanced Global Studies (Sciences Po University Paris, France).
Currently, Abel is studying for a PhD in Political Science and Migration, and also Master of Arts d’etudes de genre Paris 8 University in France.
To date, Abel has written a handful of journals and boasts of three book titles in his name. His works seek to educate, advocate and eliminate all forms of social injustice.
When Abel takes off his professional blazer, he remains a family man. He is legally married to one wife and blessed with a child. He was also born into a Christian family with three sisters and two brothers.
