Zimbabwe international footballer Marvelous Nakamba yesterday helped defeat Chelsea in their final Premier League match of the season. He was making his 50th appearance for the club.
In his tweet Nakamba tweeted, “Very proud to make my 50th appearance for this great club. Excellent result today to end the season on a high. Thanks to our amazing fans for their continuous support.” #UTV 💜 https://t.co/d19F6hECpT
“Unsung hero of the season award would have to go to this man. He doesn’t play every game, but when called upon he puts a proper shift in & plays his role with a minimum of fuss. Cult hero in the making. Hope to see more of him next season.” Purslows Pursestrings
Nakamba played until stoppage time and was named Man of the Match. He started for Aston Villa and even made his first assist in the Premier League when they played Tottenham last Wednesday.
Traore put the hosts ahead with his 43rd-minute strike before El Ghazi doubled the lead nine minutes later when he converted a penalty.
Chelsea managed to pull one back through Chilwell’s 70th-minute strike.
Nineteen minutes later, Chelsea were reduced to ten men after their skipper, Caeser Azpilicueta was sent out after reacting to Grealish’s foul by pushing his hand in the face of Villa’s captain.
The result comes after reports that Chelsea faced a possibility of points deduction after being charged for failing to control their players resulting in a brawl during their 2-1 victory over Leicester City on Tuesday.
